The Work in Hope Fund

The Work in Hope Fund is our commitment to sustaining what makes NLCS the 2025 Independent Girls’ School of the Year. Rooted in our school ethos, it underpins the fourth pillar that defines the School – impact and influence – and sits at the heart of Giving Day. Your generosity helps power programmes that stretch learning beyond the classroom and prepare pupils for a complex, fast-changing world.

What your support enables
This includes the recent Surge Start-up Academy, which unlocked a transformative experience for an entire Year 12 cohort, alongside the Eureka Partnerships Programme and the In-Residence Programme.

New for this year
The VEX Robotics and Recording Studio projects represent a significant step forward in how we support creative and technical learning at NLCS. From building robotics capability from Junior School onwards and sharing that expertise through outreach, to a purpose-built recording studio supporting creative work across the whole School, these initiatives reflect where education is heading.

A purpose-built pondside recording studio will give our students access to a truly professional, industry-standard creative environment – a major step up from the original classroom concept and the current boathouse. The pondside setting offers natural sound isolation, superior acoustics, and an inspirational backdrop that will elevate both music recording and podcast production. Possessing a dedicated control room and live room, it would have the kind of setup found in top studios worldwide
